outline of myndia

so, heres the deal... i haven't really figured out how i want to write this, but i have drawn a map and have a bunch of characters outlined.  This post will kinda reset my story and start with just the skeleton of who the characters are and what they hope to accomplish.  maybe a boring read but it really kinda excites me to write about the characters instead of figuring out how they would act in any given situation.  but first a little over view of the geography of Myndia...

Myndia centers mostly around a river.  This river begins in the Far Northern City of the Atzoom Mts. The Great King lives there.  Just East of the Atzoom Mts. there is a large crack in the earth.  No one knows how deep this crack is because everyone who travels there has never come back.  This crack is the assumed home of all evil creatures and used to be Tannin's home.
Further South along the mountains the river creates a small lake.  This is where the city Adamah is located.  Adamah is a bright shining city.  It was founded a long time ago by the Great Kings when Tannin and his children attacked.  Adamah's strategic location enabled the Kings forces to push Tannin back and sealed him to the Forgotten Tree.  Success came at a high price.  Most of Adamah's men where lost.  Chaim and his sister Baila are from Adamah.
Just Southwest of Adamah is the Forgotten Tree.  The Forgotten Tree is the largest tree in Myndia and is the only way to get to the North Lands from the South.  The Orangutans where given charge over the Tree when Tannin was sealed there.  The Orangutans have no equal in the trees.  So, they are easily able to defend it.  When our story starts the Orangutans have been living in the tree for centuries and strange new leaves have begun to appear.
The river flows South from the mountains through many forests and hills till it is split in two by a mountain.  The Eastern flow pools in the hill country just before the Lone Desert.  It pools here because the Giants made a dam.  Not much is knows about the giants other than their size, HUGE! The Western flow becomes a delta before entering the sea.  This is where Delta City is located.  Delta City is known for its strange contraptions, tall buildings, and large markets.  Everyone knows you can just about buy anything you want at Delta City.
Everything East of the crack and Atzoom Mountains and the river is the Lone Desert.  It is said that there is a beautiful city somewhere in the Lone Desert but due to the shifting sands there is no way to create a map.
West of the Forgotten Tree there is one small city, more like a tribe really, on the south side of the Atzoom Mountains where they meet the sea.  Other than being surrounded by marshlands they say it is a relatively inconsequential and unimportant place

So, with out further adue i give you the characters of Myndia:

Chaim: His name means life in Hebrew.  He is searching for a fabled white stone he heard about from his grandpa's stories.  The white stone is an extremely rare stone and supposedly everyone who knows where it is has died long ago.  Chaim wants to find this stone so he can give it to his sister Baila as a wedding present.  Chaim rides the largest of bears called Growler.  Chaim plans to follow the river from his home in the High Lands to Delta City in the south to inquire about the stone.

Growler: He is a mix between a polar bear and a grizzly bear.  A prince of the bear kingdom in the north.  Has a distinctively gray coat with brown paws.

Baili: Hebrew for white.  She is Chaim's sister.  Excitedly waiting for her wedding with the Great King of the far north.

Cain: Mystrous man from a western tribe.  Rides a long haired orange and black mountain lion he calls Beast.  He goes to the Forgotten Tree to try and find Chaim.

Nun: Name means reward for faithfulness.  This moth is the ancestor of his fathers who enjoyed watching men.  The Giver saw their faithfulness in watching men and gave them the job of remembering all history.  Each father passes his knowledge to their children and so on.  Nun specializes in the history of the Forgotten Tree.

Aviv:  Young Orangutan living on the Forgotten Tree.  He is curious about what happens on the land and doesn't care much about the recent appearance of the bumpy leaves on the tree.  He signs up for the most dangerous leaf picking position on the very bottom at the very edge where the branches are smallest so he has a chance to see someone who lives on the land.

Tannin:  Litterally means monster.  He is a snake from the crack in the earth.  Thousands of years ago he and his children, called the Nashim, attacked the Northern country.  He wanted to claim the Great King's thrown and rule Myndia, but he was pushed back and sealed to the Forgotten Tree by the Mordechaim.  The rage of his imprisonment has caused him to attack the Forgotten Tree multiple times, but recently, these waves have stopped.  No one really knows why and none of the Orangutans are dumb enough to go check.

Mordechai:  hebrew for Warrior,  Mordechai was an ancient fearless general.  He lead the Mordechaim to victory but gave his life to lock Tannin to the Forgotten Tree.

Ro'Eh: Hebrew for shepherd.  A strange character.  Supposedly as old as Tannin and the Great King.  He wonders about Southern Myndia singing his song.

Iti: Hebrew for with me.  Little is known about this giant.
