Introduction

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Welcome to the land of Myndia.  An ancient land of wild beasts, many varieties of monster, and of course lots of good things too.  I personally invite you to come with me as we discover the adventures it contains.  It shouldn't be too dangerous...

Our first discovery takes us to the mountains.  The Atzoom mountains to be exact, Just between the cliffs of Ga'doll and Kebar to a small valley containing the largest tree in Myndia.  It is of course the largest tree in Myndia because it is also the oldest tree in Myndia.  I would tell you it's name but it has long been forgotten even by the Orangutans who dwell in it.  It is one of the only trees that have survived the Great Collision.

The Great Collision was a nasty war many, many years ago between the Mordechaim and the evil snake Tannin.  This was a terribly dreadful place to live then.  It would take too long to explain all the details of the war and who fought for who.  Right now all you need to know is that the Orangutans, whom i affectionately call Rangs, fought for the Mordechaim.  All the Mordechaim lived West of the tree.  Tannin is a large snake with an army of his children called Nahashim.  He attacked from the East.  The Mordechaim were taken by surprise and barely defeated Tannin and his Nahashim.  When the fighting was at it's worst the Rangs, were ordered to inhabit and defend the tree.  Rangs are fierce warriors in the trees, just dont ask them to fight on land.  They quickly dispatched all the snakes from the tree. They did such a good job protecting the tree that the last few Mordechaim warriors, though not able to kill Tannin, were able to trap him.  This officially ended the Great Collision.  Though the Nahashim still attacked the tree from time to time making the Rangs presence there necessary.

So, the Orangutans stayed and lived there.  The tree made a nice home for the Rangs.  It had plenty of shade and fruit and space for wrestling, which Rangs love to do.  There were the random attacks from the Nahashim but that was easily solved by stationing watchrangs around the large trunk.  When a snake wound its way up the trunk the watchrang sounded the alarm and snakes were dispatched easily enough.  This also provided a little protein for their diet.  After all, one would get tired of only eating fruit and leaves.

Speaking of leaves, there was an interesting development at the tree a few hundred years after the war.  Bumpy leaves started appearing on the tree.  You should have seen the face on the Rang when he accidently stuck a bumpy leaf in his mouth.  When the captain heard of the bumpy leaves he ordered them all removed for fear of a new kind of attack on the tree.  Every year from then on the assigned Rangs systematically removed the bumpy leaves from East to West, one by one.

Oh boy, the first couple of years the Rangs picked those leaves was quite a sight.  You should have been there.  About a thousand Rangs migrated to the very East end of the tree and picked every last bumpy leaf from the thick bottom branches to the tiny top branches all the way to my home in the, dark, quiet, crowded West end of the tree.  The cliffs on the North and South sides squish the tree real light and thick blocking the sunlight.  The thick limbs make it harder for bigger animals to move around just like i like it.  For three weeks all you would see is leaves falling.  quite a sight...  though now they move a lot slower.  Only a few hundred years later and it takes twice as many Rangs twice as long to pluck the bumpy leaves.  They must be getting tired of it.

This, at last brings me to the whole point of this history lesson.  I want to introduce you to a quite amazing young Rang called Aviv.
